Lucas Penner is an experimental indie rock artist based in British Columbia, in Canada. Today I will be reviewing his single ‘So Well’ which was released on October 27th 2020 after a break by the artist from releasing music online.
‘So Well’ has a dark and heavy intro, a building suspenseful note, that’s drawn out, even as the guitar joins, and the melody grows in complexity, the solitary chords of what i think is a violin, everything seems subtly distorted and darker, building a sense of dread and apprehension. That being said, don’t get the impression it’s unpleasant, it was a treat to listen to, I especially liked the guitar riffs, they were a wee bit playful and just exudes raw awesomeness. I was truly blown away by this, it was perfect for a Halloween release, I’m just sorry I got to it a couple weeks too late, but don’t earmark this as just a spooky tune, because it’s truly an incredible piece of music overall.
so that’s what I thought of Lucas Penner’s single ‘So Well’ and if you want to check that out for yourself then head on over to Spotify. Make sure and support the artist by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or by visiting their website.
